Where Is Your Salvation?
Whenever I started this blog I wanted it to be truly for the glory of the Lord and not for my own worldly desires. With that being said, the Lord has laid it on my heart recently to discuss the topic of salvation and specifically talk about whether you all reading this are saved or not. I know we hear this often that if you are not saved then you are welcome any time to ask the Father to come into your heart and be Lord over your life. However, sometimes some of us might feel like we're saved when we're really not. What I mean by this is that you think in your head that you are saved but in all actuality you cannot remember a time or place whenever you actually gave your life to Christ and asked Him to forgive your sins. You are living the life of a Christian without the heavenly title.
In our youth room at my church there was a cross on the wall and every single person in the youth group had signed their names on it except for me. One day I asked someone what is the purpose of putting your name on the cross, it is to signify your worldly death with Christ and resurrection with Him. In short, you knew without a doubt that you were saved. So my question for you today is are you truly saved? There should not be any doubt in your mind that you are a Child of God because I know personally I lived for many years with the thought "I'm sure I have given my life to Christ before, but I just can't recall the situation or the date". If you have the same thoughts as I once did, friend I want to tell you that maybe you really have never given your life to Christ and maybe today is the day. I'm not saying that I know it all but I do know that there is no question in my mind that I will be dancing in heaven on streets of gold.
Now if you are saved and know that you will be in heaven for eternity then live like you're saved and preach to others that they can have the same blessed assurance in Jesus. The feeling of not knowing where you're headed after this world is so unnerving and can make you feel so hopeless. This is where the Lord comes in and provides the promise that there is a life after this, you only have to have faith that He is who He says He is. If you want to believe this than all you have to do is believe and pray this simple prayer...
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name, Amen.
If you just prayed this for the first time congratulations friend and welcome to the kingdom! If you want to talk about salvation and have questions about what it would look like to follow Christ I'm not promising that I have all the answers but I do know enough to know that the Lord loves you enough to send His Son to die for you. All He asks in return is for you to say yes to Him.
May the peace and love of God be with you always,
Leah Carpenter
