I'm Not Really Feeling It

At this point in time I feel so beat and burnt out that I could literally fall asleep anywhere and everywhere. I felt like I needed to dive head first into this semester and give it all I had, but all I had took almost everything out of me and honestly was not worth it. School is hard, work is hard, and just simply giving this messed up world 110% is exhausting. That being said these wasted efforts will get you no where in the end because none of these accomplishments or awards will get you anywhere on the other side of Heaven. You do not have to break your back to be perfect or be afraid to take some time to say no to things and simply watch reels on Instagram for hours just to decompress. If you won't take the advice from yourself take it from me that it is okay to just do the best you can and don't worry about having to have everything in order right now, things are going to fall into place just as they should.

Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying you should just give up now, what I'm saying is you don't have to set unattainable standards because in the eyes of God there is nothing that you can do or get that is going to make Him love you any less. Galatians 6:9 says "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up". During these hard times where all you want to do is absolutely nothing take some time to sow those seeds of the gospel in people because you have no idea how many people need some kind words in their lives. Let others know that grades are just a number and do not define anyone as a whole. Whether your GPA is what you wanted or a little bit different, be the person God created you to be and show others the light that God shines through you.

Do you really think God didn't know you had these last few weeks of school left? Well I can tell you He did and He is going to use them to move in ways that you might not even see. This time around the holidays can be really difficult for a lot of people so even if you're to the point where all you want to do is go home and snuggle with your cat, like I really want to do right now:), love on others because everyone is fighting a battle that you know nothing about. I really hope that this speaks to you because I know that after talking to the girls in my suite we all felt a similar way and I can't speak for everyone, but specifically for my GWU peeps only 3 more days of class! Stick it out until the end and just know that after it's all said in done you will be a better person because of it.

May the love and peace of God be with you always,

Leah Carpenter
