I Will Never Be Satisfied

In the United States especially we are told that we should all strive to be the greatest version of ourselves; never settle, never be satisfied with where you are at. Honestly, it's a great way to view the gospel and the world we live in today. So many people surrounding us are living without the love of the Lord and it should never be something that Christians settle with. We are called to be in pursuit of people who are far from God and never stop until we are called home. Sometimes this is a tall task to live up too but it doesn't matter how unqualified you feel, you are a child of God meant to help others also embrace their true identity: children of the king.

Pursing someone is not an easy task nor is it something that ever really gets any easier. People are angry at the church, their upset that something happened to one of their family members, or they just don't want to listen. Like I said it's not the easiest but plenty of people have gone before us and devoted their lives to the same cause. I think of all of the disciples that were sent out as dead men walking because they knew what they were up against when they decided to follow Jesus. They knew that most of them would be turned away and shunned but they persisted anyways to seek out the ones who were far from the Lord. One story that reminds me of why I follow the Lord is the woman at the well. She had sinned just like anyone else, yet she was met by Jesus and offered His eternal grace and mercy. She didn't deserve any of it, but she will never thirst again because Jesus gave her what she was always longing for, Him. We can have the same experience as her. He saw us even when we were broken and alone and told us "I see you for who you aware and I still call you child". That's something a lot of us take for granted because the grace He gives is always there for us despite how much we sin. However, people who don't know Jesus don't feel this grace and wont experience the gift of eternal life. Let that sink in. Some people will not experience the gift of Heaven and that really should make all Christians uneasy and want to proclaim the gospel more simply everyone deserves to hear about the goodness of God.

Now I'm not saying that you're responsible for someone else's salvation, but we can't sit here and do nothing about nonbelievers. Someone sought you out, someone wanted you to be a child of God, do the same for someone else. Seek after others and let them know how much they're loved by Him, you might not get the answer you want all the time but you never know what type of seeds you can plant in someone else's life. We should never be satisfied with what we're doing on earth. We should crave to seek God more and crave to bring more people to Him. So show others the joy and peace He gives you, but also the trials He has brought you through and how He has satisfied your every longing and desire.

May the peace and love of God be with you always,

Leah Carpenter
